Ingredient & additive flags

Product pages show short, factual chips when our parser finds specific ingredients or allergens in the label text or declared allergen statement. Wording is neutral (for example, “Contains aspartame”) — not a health rating. Filters on product lists let you hide products that match a flag; those filtered URLs are not indexed.

How we rate foods

Flag chips on product pages

Exclude filters on lists & search

Each option keeps products that do not carry the corresponding flag. Products without ingredient data are not removed.

Matching notes

Matching uses ingredient text, declared allergen statements, and (for Open Food Facts products) additive E-numbers stored with the product. Label claims such as “sugar-free” suppress added-sugar flags; “peanut-free facility” suppresses peanut allergen flags.
