100% Fruit Juice From Apple Juice

This is apple juice made entirely from apples, with no added sugars or water. It is produced by pressing apples to extract their juice, which may then be concentrated by removing water and later reconstituted with water.

Manufacturers use 100% fruit juice as a natural sweetener and flavor enhancer. It is commonly found in beverages like fruit juices, fruit drinks, and smoothies, as well as in some baked goods and fruit preparations.

In the US, 100% fruit juice is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA. While it contains natural sugars, it also provides vitamins and minerals. Health organizations like the WHO recommend limiting intake of free sugars, including those from 100% fruit juice, due to potential links to weight gain and dental caries when consumed in excess. JECFA and EFSA have evaluated various aspects of fruit juices.
