100% Fruit Juice From Organic Apple Juice

100% fruit juice from organic apple juice is the liquid extracted from organic apples. The apples are pressed, and the resulting juice is typically filtered and pasteurized for safety and shelf stability. If labeled 'from concentrate,' water was removed after pressing and later added back.

This ingredient is primarily used as a beverage base, providing natural sweetness and apple flavor to drinks. It can also be incorporated into sauces, desserts, and other food products as a natural sweetener or flavor enhancer.

As a food ingredient, 100% fruit juice is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when produced under good manufacturing practices. It contains naturally occurring sugars. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans (2025-2030) recommend choosing whole fruits over fruit juice to maximize fiber intake, and advise consuming 100% fruit juice in moderation due to its sugar content. JECFA and EFSA typically evaluate food additives, not whole food ingredients like fruit juice.
