Includes Annatto And Turmeric Added

Annatto and turmeric are natural colorants derived from plants. Annatto comes from the seeds of the achiote tree, and turmeric comes from the root of the turmeric plant. They are processed to extract their vibrant yellow and orange colors.

These ingredients are added to foods primarily for their coloring properties, providing yellow to orange hues. They are commonly found in snack bars, chocolate products, dairy products like cheese and butter, and baked goods.

Annatto and turmeric are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use as food colorings. They are widely consumed and considered safe at typical dietary levels. International bodies like JECFA have evaluated them, and no specific concerns have been raised regarding their use as food colorants.
