Kale Juice And Spinach Juice

Kale and spinach juices are liquids extracted from the leafy green vegetables kale and spinach. They are typically made by washing, chopping, and pressing the vegetables to release their juices, which may then be filtered or pasteurized.

These juices are added to foods and beverages primarily for their nutritional content and vibrant green color. They are often found in fruit and vegetable juice blends, smoothies, and sometimes in sauces or dips where a natural green hue is desired.

Kale and spinach juices are considered foods and are not regulated as food additives by the FDA. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. While generally recognized as safe as part of a normal diet, no specific regulatory bodies like JECFA or EFSA have evaluated them for additive purposes. High intakes of certain compounds in these vegetables could potentially interact with medications, but this is not typically a concern at levels found in food products.
