Organic Fruit And Vegetable Juice Added

This ingredient is made from the juice of various fruits and vegetables, often organic. The juice is typically concentrated by removing water, then reconstituted before use. It can be used to add flavor, color, and some nutrients to food products.

Manufacturers add organic fruit and vegetable juice primarily for its natural coloring and flavoring properties. It is also used to contribute to the overall fruit or vegetable content of a product. You can find it in snacks, beverages, and some baked goods.

Organic fruit and vegetable juice is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as intended. It provides natural sugars, vitamins, and minerals. International bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated similar juice concentrates, generally finding them safe for consumption. Evidence does not suggest adverse health effects from consuming these juices at typical levels found in food.
