Apple Vinegar Powder

Apple vinegar powder is made by drying liquid apple cider vinegar. The drying process removes water, leaving a concentrated powder form of the vinegar. This allows for easier storage and incorporation into dry food products.

Manufacturers add apple vinegar powder to provide a tangy, slightly sweet flavor profile to foods. It is often used in seasoning mixes, rubs, and marinades to add complexity and a subtle acidic note. Its powder form makes it a convenient ingredient for dry blends.

Apple vinegar powder is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as a food ingredient. The FDA has not set specific upper intake levels for vinegar powder, and it is consumed in small amounts as part of seasoned foods. International bodies like JECFA have evaluated vinegar and its components, but specific evaluations for the powder form may vary. Evidence on health benefits of vinegar is mixed, with some studies suggesting potential effects on blood sugar control or weight management, but more research is needed.
