Blue Raspberry Natural Lemon Flavor

Blue raspberry is a popular artificial flavor that mimics the taste of a raspberry. It is not derived from any natural fruit but is created by food scientists using a combination of chemical compounds. The 'blue' aspect comes from artificial coloring, typically Blue 1.

Manufacturers use blue raspberry flavor to create a distinct, sweet, and fruity taste in a variety of foods and beverages. It is especially common in candies, drinks, and frozen treats like ice cream and popsicles, where its vibrant color also enhances visual appeal.

Artificial flavors like blue raspberry are regulated by the FDA and are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) when consumed in typical amounts. The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine have not established upper intake levels for artificial flavors. While generally considered safe, some individuals may experience sensitivities to artificial colors or flavors. The FDA is currently reviewing petroleum-based synthetic dyes, which may include colors used in blue raspberry flavoring.
