Clarified Orange Juice Concentrate

Clarified orange juice concentrate is made by removing pulp and solids from orange juice, then concentrating it by removing water. This process intensifies the orange flavor and aroma. It is often used as a base for other orange-flavored products.

Manufacturers use clarified orange juice concentrate to add natural orange flavor and sweetness to beverages, baked goods, and desserts. It is frequently found in sparkling juices, sodas, and fruit-flavored drinks.

Clarified orange juice concentrate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use in food. It is a source of vitamin C and other nutrients naturally found in oranges. International bodies like JECFA have evaluated similar fruit juice concentrates, but no specific health concerns are associated with its typical consumption.
