Fire Roasted Yellow Corn

Fire roasted yellow corn is whole kernel corn that has been exposed to direct flame or high heat, giving it a smoky flavor and slightly charred appearance. It is typically produced by roasting corn on the cob or kernels directly over a grill or in a high-temperature oven. This process enhances the natural sweetness of the corn and adds a savory, roasted dimension.

Manufacturers use fire-roasted yellow corn to add a distinct smoky flavor and appealing texture to a variety of dishes. It is commonly found in frozen meals, salsas, dips, side dishes, and Mexican-inspired cuisine. Its robust flavor makes it a versatile ingredient for adding depth and a grilled note.

Yellow corn is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA as a food ingredient. It is a source of dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. While generally considered healthy, like all foods, excessive consumption of processed foods containing corn may contribute to excess calorie intake. Regulatory bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated corn and its components, but specific health claims are not typically associated with its use as a food ingredient.
