Natural Coconut Flavor With Other Natural Flavors

This ingredient is a blend of natural coconut extract and other natural flavorings. The coconut component is derived from the coconut fruit, while 'other natural flavors' can come from various plant or animal sources, processed to create specific taste profiles.

Manufacturers use this blend to impart a coconut flavor, often with additional complex notes, to a variety of food and beverage products. It is commonly found in drinks, condiments, teas, and baked goods where a distinct coconut taste is desired.

Natural flavors are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as intended. Regulatory bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated many natural flavor components. While generally considered safe in typical food amounts, some individuals may have sensitivities to specific flavor compounds. Evidence regarding widespread health effects from natural flavors at typical consumption levels is limited.
