Organic Elderberry Juice From Concentrate

Elderberry juice is made from the dark purple berries of the elder plant (Sambucus nigra). The juice is typically extracted from the berries and then concentrated by removing water. This concentrate is later reconstituted into juice by adding water back.

Manufacturers use elderberry juice concentrate primarily as a natural source of deep purple color and a fruity flavor in beverages and other food products. It is commonly found in juices, sodas, and other fruit-flavored drinks.

Elderberry is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use as a food ingredient. It is a source of antioxidants, such as anthocyanins. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has evaluated elderberry extracts. Research into elderberry's health effects is ongoing, with some studies suggesting immune support benefits, while others show no significant effect.
