What it is

Organic passionfruit juice concentrate is made from the juice of organic passionfruit that has had most of its water removed. This concentrates the flavor, color, and nutrients of the fruit. It is used to add a strong passionfruit taste to products.

Why it's used

Manufacturers use organic passionfruit juice concentrate to add a distinct tropical flavor to beverages, dressings, and other food products. It is often found in fruit juices, smoothies, and salad dressings where a bright, tangy fruit note is desired.

Health notes

Organic passionfruit juice concentrate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as a food ingredient. It is a source of vitamin C and antioxidants. International bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated various fruit juices and concentrates, but specific evaluations for organic passionfruit juice concentrate may vary. At typical consumption levels, it is not associated with adverse health effects.

Allergen info

Passionfruit is not one of the nine major allergens recognized by the FDA. It does not contain gluten.
