Organic Purple Carrot Puree

Organic purple carrot puree is made from carrots that are naturally a deep purple color, rather than orange. The carrots are typically steamed or cooked, then pureed to create a smooth consistency. It is used as a natural ingredient in various food products.

Purple carrot puree is primarily used as a natural colorant, providing a vibrant purple hue to foods. It can also contribute a mild sweetness and flavor. It is commonly found in baby foods, yogurts, smoothies, and baked goods.

Purple carrot puree is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as a food ingredient. It is a source of anthocyanins, which are antioxidants found in many purple and red fruits and vegetables. JECFA and EFSA have evaluated anthocyanins and their safety is well-established. No specific health concerns are associated with typical consumption levels of purple carrot puree.
