Organic Turmeric Root Juice

Organic Turmeric Root Juice is a liquid extract made from the ground roots of the turmeric plant (Curcuma longa). The roots are typically washed, chopped, and then pressed or juiced to extract the liquid. This juice is known for its vibrant yellow-orange color and earthy, slightly bitter flavor.

Manufacturers use organic turmeric root juice primarily as a natural colorant, imparting a warm yellow to orange hue in food products. It's also added for its distinct flavor profile. It is commonly found in beverages, sauces, marinades, and some baked goods.

Turmeric and its active compound curcumin have been studied for various health effects. The FDA recognizes turmeric as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) for use as a food ingredient and color additive. While research suggests potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, these effects are generally associated with concentrated curcumin supplements rather than typical dietary intake from turmeric juice. International bodies like EFSA have evaluated turmeric and its extracts.
