Tomato Chipotle Sauce

Tomato Chipotle Sauce is a prepared sauce made primarily from tomatoes and chipotle peppers. Chipotle peppers are jalapeño peppers that have been smoked and dried, giving them a distinctive smoky flavor and moderate heat. The sauce typically combines these ingredients with other seasonings, and sometimes vinegar or oil, to create a savory and spicy condiment.

Manufacturers add Tomato Chipotle Sauce to products primarily for its flavor, providing a smoky, savory, and mildly spicy profile. It is commonly used in prepared meals, such as frozen dinners, taco fillings, and skillet meals, to enhance the overall taste experience. Its robust flavor makes it suitable for a variety of cuisines, particularly those with Mexican or Tex-Mex influences.

Tomato Chipotle Sauce is considered a food ingredient, not a food additive, and is therefore not subject to specific FDA approval processes for additives. Its safety is generally recognized based on the safety of its individual components (tomatoes, chipotle peppers, and other common sauce ingredients). There are no specific JECFA or EFSA evaluations for 'Tomato Chipotle Sauce' as a single entity. As with any prepared food, the nutritional content can vary based on the specific recipe, and consumers should consider factors like sodium, sugar, and fat from the overall product.
