100% Pomegranate Juice From Concentrate

This is 100% pomegranate juice that has been concentrated and then had water added back. Pomegranates are fruits grown in the Middle East and India, with a tough outer rind and jewel-like seeds inside. The juice is made by pressing the fruit, concentrating the juice to remove water, and then reconstituting it with water.

Manufacturers use it as a primary ingredient in beverages like juices and nectars. It is valued for its distinct tart and slightly sweet flavor profile and its vibrant red color. It can also be found as an ingredient in fruit blends and sometimes in sauces or marinades.

Pomegranate juice is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use in food. It is a source of antioxidants, such as punicalagins and anthocyanins. The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) has evaluated pomegranate juice, but did not set a numeric acceptable daily intake (ADI). Research into the health effects of pomegranate juice is ongoing, with some studies suggesting potential benefits for heart health and inflammation, while others show mixed results.
