And Pineapple Juice Concentrates

Pineapple juice concentrate is made by removing water from pineapple juice. This process intensifies the natural flavor and sweetness of the pineapple. It is often used as a base for other pineapple-flavored products.

Manufacturers use pineapple juice concentrate primarily as a sweetener and flavor enhancer. It is commonly found in fruit juices, nectars, fruit drinks, and some snack items where a natural fruit flavor is desired.

Pineapple juice concentrate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as a food ingredient. It is a source of natural sugars and some vitamins, like Vitamin C. Regulatory bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated similar fruit-derived ingredients. Evidence does not suggest adverse health effects from typical consumption levels.
