Clarified Pineapple Juice Concentrate

Clarified pineapple juice concentrate is made by removing pulp and solids from pineapple juice, then concentrating it by removing water. This process intensifies the natural flavor and sweetness of the pineapple. It is a shelf-stable product that retains many of the original fruit's characteristics.

Manufacturers use clarified pineapple juice concentrate primarily as a natural sweetener and flavor enhancer. It adds a fruity taste and sweetness to beverages, baked goods, and confectionery. Its concentrated form makes it an efficient ingredient for adding pineapple flavor without excess liquid.

Clarified pineapple juice concentrate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as a food ingredient. It is a source of natural sugars and some vitamins, but also contributes to overall sugar intake. International bodies like JECFA have evaluated similar fruit juice concentrates. Evidence does not suggest adverse health effects at typical consumption levels.
