Gmo-free Prebiotic Vegetable Fiber

GMO-free prebiotic vegetable fiber is a type of dietary fiber that comes from plant sources, such as chicory root or corn. It is processed to be free of genetically modified organisms. This fiber acts as a prebiotic, meaning it feeds beneficial bacteria in the gut.

Manufacturers add it to foods to increase fiber content and support gut health. It can also add a slightly sweet taste and improve texture. It is commonly found in protein powders, meal replacement supplements, and some baked goods.

Inulin and other prebiotic fibers are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use in food. They are not typically associated with adverse health effects when consumed in amounts found in foods. Regulatory bodies like EFSA have evaluated similar fibers. Research suggests prebiotics can benefit gut microbiota, but more study is needed on specific health outcomes.
