Natural Flavor From Sunflower Oil

Natural flavors are complex mixtures of aromatic and taste compounds extracted from natural sources like plants or animal products. In this case, the flavor compounds are derived from sunflower oil through processes like extraction or distillation. These processes aim to capture the specific taste and aroma profiles of the source material.

Manufacturers use natural flavors to enhance or impart specific taste sensations in food products. They are often used to create savory notes, add richness, or replicate the taste of specific ingredients. You can find them in a variety of processed foods, including frozen meals, seasonings, and sauces.

Natural flavors are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as intended. Regulatory bodies like the FDA and EFSA oversee their use to ensure safety. While generally considered safe, some individuals may have sensitivities to specific flavor compounds. Evidence does not suggest adverse health effects from typical consumption levels.
