Natural And Artificial Cheddar Cheese Flavor

Natural and artificial cheddar cheese flavor is a blend of compounds designed to mimic the taste of cheddar cheese. Natural flavors are derived from natural sources like milk and cheese, while artificial flavors are synthesized chemicals. The specific ingredients are proprietary but aim to replicate the savory, tangy, and sometimes sharp notes of cheddar.

This flavor is added to foods to impart or enhance a cheddar cheese taste without using actual cheese. It is commonly found in processed cheese products, snacks like chips and crackers, frozen appetizers, and some sauces and seasonings where a cheesy flavor is desired.

Natural and artificial flavors are regulated by the FDA. Generally, flavors are considered safe when consumed at typical levels. The FDA has not established specific upper limits for most flavorings. International bodies like JECFA have evaluated many flavor compounds, but specific evaluations for complex flavor blends like this may vary. Evidence does not suggest adverse health effects from the consumption of natural and artificial flavors at typical dietary levels.
