Organic Celery Seed Powder

Organic celery seed powder is made from the dried seeds of the celery plant (Apium graveolens). The seeds are harvested, cleaned, and then ground into a fine powder. This process concentrates the flavor of celery.

Celery seed powder is primarily used as a flavoring agent in food products. It imparts a savory, slightly bitter, and aromatic taste reminiscent of celery. It is commonly found in seasoning blends, salad dressings, soups, sauces, and baked goods like crackers and breads.

Celery seed powder is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use as a flavoring. It is not typically consumed in amounts large enough to cause adverse health effects. Regulatory bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated celery and its derivatives, but specific evaluations for celery seed powder's safety at typical food use levels are not widely published. Research into celery seed's potential health benefits, such as antioxidant properties, is ongoing, but more studies are needed.
