Organic Green Coffee Extract

Organic Green Coffee Extract is made from unroasted coffee beans. The beans are typically extracted using water or a solvent to isolate compounds like chlorogenic acids, which are then concentrated and dried.

It is often added to beverages and supplements for its potential health benefits and as a source of caffeine. Manufacturers use it to create functional foods and drinks, particularly energy drinks and weight management products.

In the U.S., green coffee bean extract is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) when used as intended. It is a source of caffeine, which can cause jitteriness and sleep disturbances in sensitive individuals. Regulatory bodies like EFSA have evaluated green coffee extract, noting that chlorogenic acids may have some health effects, but evidence is still developing. Some studies suggest potential benefits for weight management, but more research is needed.
