Beyond Meat Italian Sausage Style Crumbles

Beyond Meat Italian Sausage Style Crumbles are a plant-based alternative to traditional pork sausage. They are made primarily from pea protein, with other ingredients like canola oil, rice flour, and spices to mimic the taste and texture of meat.

Manufacturers use these crumbles as a meat substitute in dishes like pizza, pasta sauces, and casseroles. They provide a savory, protein-rich component without animal products.

These crumbles are generally considered safe for consumption. They are not subject to specific FDA regulations as a standalone additive but are part of the overall food product. Health impacts are related to the nutritional profile of the final product, such as sodium and fat content. JECFA and EFSA have not specifically evaluated this product, but its individual components have been assessed.
