Calcium Pantothenate And Biotin

Calcium pantothenate and biotin are forms of vitamin B5 and vitamin B7, respectively. They are water-soluble vitamins naturally found in many foods. They can be produced synthetically for use in food fortification and supplements.

These vitamins are added to foods as nutrients to enhance their nutritional value, particularly in fortified beverages, cereals, and baked goods. They play essential roles in metabolism and energy production.

Calcium pantothenate and biotin are recognized as safe and effective by the FDA when used as nutrients. Both vitamins are essential for human health, and deficiencies are rare in developed countries. International bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated these vitamins, recognizing their importance in nutrition. No significant health controversies are associated with their use at typical dietary levels.
