Each Of The Following: Cheese Powder

Cheese powder is made by removing moisture from cheese, typically through spray drying. This process concentrates the cheese flavor and extends its shelf life. It can be made from various types of cheese, such as cheddar, parmesan, or romano.

Manufacturers add cheese powder to provide a concentrated cheese flavor and color in a dry form. It is often used in snack foods like chips and crackers, as well as in dry soup mixes, sauces, and spice blends. Its dry nature makes it convenient for products where adding liquid cheese would be difficult.

Cheese powder is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as a food ingredient. It is a source of protein and calcium, common nutrients found in cheese. Regulatory bodies like JECFA and EFSA have evaluated many food ingredients, but specific evaluations for cheese powder as a distinct ingredient are not widely publicized. Typical consumption as part of a balanced diet is not associated with adverse health effects.
