Soybean Oil Canola Oil Corn Oil

Soybean oil, canola oil, and corn oil are all common vegetable oils extracted from seeds or kernels. They are produced by crushing the seeds or kernels and then refining the oil to remove impurities. These oils are widely used in cooking and food manufacturing due to their neutral flavor and versatility.

These oils are used as cooking oils, in salad dressings, and as ingredients in a wide variety of processed foods. They function as a source of fat, add moisture, and can act as emulsifiers to help blend ingredients like oil and water.

Soybean oil, canola oil, and corn oil are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA for use in food. They are sources of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, which are considered healthier fat choices than saturated or trans fats. JECFA and EFSA have evaluated these oils and found them to be safe for consumption. While generally considered healthy in moderation, excessive intake of any fat can contribute to weight gain.
