The Following: Vitamin And Mineral Blend

A mix of vitamins and minerals added to foods to boost their nutritional value. These can be synthetic or derived from natural sources. They are often added to processed foods to compensate for nutrients lost during manufacturing or to meet specific dietary needs.

Manufacturers add vitamin and mineral blends to fortify foods, helping consumers meet daily recommended intakes for essential nutrients. They are commonly found in breakfast cereals, dairy products, beverages, and baked goods, especially those marketed as healthy or for specific dietary purposes.

Vitamins and minerals are essential for human health. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates their addition to foods. Excessive intake of certain vitamins and minerals can be harmful, and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine have established upper intake levels for many. Regulatory bodies like the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) also evaluate the safety of added vitamins and minerals.
