Vegan Dough: Durum Organic Wheat Flour

Durum wheat flour is a coarse flour made from durum wheat, a hard variety of wheat. It is commonly used in pasta and bread making due to its high protein and gluten content, which gives dough elasticity and strength. The flour is produced by milling the wheat kernels.

Durum wheat flour is a primary ingredient in pasta, giving it a firm texture and golden color. It is also used in some breads, couscous, and other baked goods. Manufacturers use it for its structure-building properties in dough.

Durum wheat flour is a source of carbohydrates, protein, and some B vitamins. It is a staple food for many populations. The FDA considers wheat a major allergen. There are no specific health concerns associated with the consumption of durum wheat flour at typical dietary levels. Regulatory bodies have not set specific limits for its consumption.
