Natural Flavored Blueberry Yogurt Coating

This is a coating made with yogurt and flavored to taste like blueberries. It typically contains yogurt powder, sugar, and natural blueberry flavorings. The coating is often applied to snacks like pretzels or popcorn.

Manufacturers use this coating to add a sweet, tangy flavor and a creamy texture to foods. It also provides a visually appealing color. It's commonly found on snack items such as pretzels, popcorn, and peanuts.

Yogurt coatings are generally considered safe and are not subject to specific FDA regulations beyond general food safety standards. The ingredients are typically derived from dairy and sugar, which are common food components. While the sugar content contributes to added sugars in the diet, it is not associated with specific health risks at typical consumption levels. No specific regulatory bodies like JECFA or EFSA have evaluated this specific compound as a distinct ingredient.
