Cheese Mixture: Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese Milk

Whole milk ricotta cheese is a fresh, soft, and moist Italian-style whey cheese. It is made from the whole milk of cows, sheep, goats, or water buffaloes. The whey (a byproduct of cheesemaking) is heated, and an acid (like vinegar or lemon juice) is added to coagulate the remaining proteins, which are then drained.

Ricotta cheese is a versatile ingredient used in both sweet and savory dishes. It adds a creamy texture and mild, slightly sweet flavor to pasta fillings, lasagna, cannoli, cheesecakes, and dips. Its soft texture makes it easy to incorporate into baked goods and sauces.

Ricotta cheese is a natural dairy product and is generally recognized as safe by the FDA. It is a good source of protein and calcium. Like other dairy products, it contains saturated fat and cholesterol. Consumers concerned about these components may wish to moderate their intake.
