Organic Cheddar Cheese Sauce Mix

Organic Cheddar Cheese Sauce Mix is a powdered blend designed to create a cheddar cheese sauce when mixed with water and/or milk and heated. It typically contains dehydrated cheese, whey, starches, and flavorings, often with added spices and coloring. The 'organic' designation means its ingredients are produced according to USDA organic standards.

Manufacturers use this mix to quickly and easily produce a cheddar cheese sauce for convenience foods. It provides a cheesy flavor, creamy texture, and yellow-orange color. It is commonly found in boxed macaroni and cheese dinners, as well as some pasta dishes and snack mixes.

Organic Cheddar Cheese Sauce Mix is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA when used as intended in food. The ingredients are common food components. International bodies like JECFA have evaluated many of the individual components, such as whey and starches, and established acceptable daily intakes where appropriate. No significant health concerns are associated with consuming these ingredients in typical amounts found in food.
