Pecan

Pecans are a source of healthy fats, fiber, and various vitamins and minerals. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes pecans as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS). International bodies like the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) have also evaluated pecans. While generally considered healthy as part of a balanced diet, their high fat and calorie content means moderation is advised.
