In the US, chicory root inulin is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) by the FDA. It is a source of dietary fiber, which can support digestive health. International bodies like EFSA have evaluated inulin and found it safe for consumption. Some individuals may experience gas or bloating when consuming large amounts of inulin, especially if they are not accustomed to high-fiber foods.
